Andra Chastain won an Albert J. Beveridge Grant for Research in the History of the Western Hemisphere from the American Historical Association. Sue Peabody (History, Vancouver) is thrilled to have been selected for a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) 2023 Summer Stipend. She will complete the archival research for her book project, “The Failure of the Succès: Anatomy of a Slave Smuggling Voyage” in Paris and Nantes, while giving several invited lectures in Paris (Campus Condorcet, Sorbonne, Dartmouth Study Abroad) and Venice (Ca’ Foscari).
Aaron Jesch has been invited to present (and sing) at the upcoming Pacific Northwest Labor History Association conference to be held at the Washington State Historical Society in Tacoma, May 6, “Songs and Poems of the Industrial Workers of the World.” Last summer Jesch received a competitive Sam Fishman Travel Grant from the Walter P. Reuther Library at Wayne State University.
