There will be several Washington State University faculty and students attending the World History Association (WHA) meeting in Ghent, Belgium in July.  A double panel of Roots of Contemporary Issues faculty, and a panel on “Women as Migrants: Conflict and Consequences” with president-elect Merry Wiesner-Hanks, past president Candice Goucher, Barbara Traver, Sue Peabody and instructor Aaron Whelchel and alumni Maryanne Rhett.  For more information, see the WHA conference URL.

Shawna Herzog, 2013 PhD recipient and instructor, says “I’ve been on the conference planning committee since 2013 and this year I am assistant program organizer. I’ll also be delivering a paper on a panel chaired by Karen Phoenix about inter-imperial cooperation in colonial Southeast Asia. This is going to be a SUPER fun conference and I’m so excited that so many of our faculty and students are going this year.”
