Charles Weller Appointed Lecturer for Humanities Washington

Charles Weller has been appointed a WSU Foley Institute-sponsored lecturer for Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau, 2026-27. Based on his two-volume study of Moses, Muhammad and Their Laws in Transatlantic and American Slave History (Palgrave Macmillan, 2026, https://link.springer.com/book/9783032103734 – link opens in new window) and an offshoot study of 1619 v 1776: Critical Traditions, Marxist Labels and America’s History Wars, he will present on “How America Talks (Differently) About Slavery” to various venues across WA state for the next two years (https://www.humanities.org/speaker/r-charles-weller/ – link opens in new window). His first two sessions are hosted by the Clark County Historical Museum in Vancouver, WA on Feb 5 and 6, co-sponsored by the Vancouver NAACP chapter and its the ACT-SO Youth Program, in cooperation with the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC),  and Odyssey World International Education Services (OWIES).
