Two WSUV Students Receive Undergraduate Research Fellows Awards

Iván González-Soto will serve as a faculty mentor for two undergraduate research projects over the 2025-2026 academic year. This week, two of Iván’s students were awarded Undergraduate Research Fellowships in recognition of their proposed/collaborative oral history project in Southwest Washington and outstanding academic work. Last semester, they completed original oral history projects for Iván’s HIST 300 and HIST 250 classes, which they now plan to expand as part of their fellowship. Each student will receive $750 to support their collaborative oral history research and the creation of a digital archive housed at the WSUV Library’s Special Collections & Archives. Iván will continue to mentor them throughout the fellowship as they strengthen their research and graduate school applications.
