  • 595 Teaching History (3 credit hours)

Research Seminar (3/6 credit hours)

3 hours required in the primary field except for Public History track which requires both 528 and 529.

Field Courses (6 credit hours)

3 credits must be taken in the primary field and 3 credits in an area outside the primary and general fields.

Public History Track (6 credit hours)

Additional requirements for Public History track only.

Up to 9 hours may be taken outside the department.

  • Electives 400-500
  • 400 level (max of 6)

Foreign Language Exam

Required by the 3rd semester.

Prelim Exam (written and oral)

Required by the 5th semester.

D-1 meeting

Required within four (4) months following preliminary exam.
