Dr. Green Soto Developing Skill Shop Series

Shiloh Green Soto and Sam Buechler from the WSUV Library have been hard at work developing a skill shop series for the 25-26AY. Focused on community participation skills, students, staff, faculty, and community members will learn about de-escalation and conflict resolution, civics 101, coalition building, equitability, and more. Faculty from Anthropology, History, Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, as well as a community organizations, will be brought together to redirect the university’s land grant mission toward community building. Based on her first book project about how to reconcile the community engagement goals of land-grant universities, Shiloh spent the summer imagining a skill shop series committed to strengthening people’s lives in Southwest Washington.
