Two cases from the Fallen Cougars Project, directed by Ray Sun, were featured in a Northwest Public Broadcasting story that aired this week about the impact of losses from World War II on families from the region, to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the war.
The historian whose work on WW2 veterans is cited in the story, Alicia, Callahan, received her Bachelor’s degree in History from WSU, where she did her foundational research on veterans for her Honors thesis. She was the History Department’s Outstanding Senior in 2023. She went on to receive her MA from Central Washington University this past May.
