Robert Franklin was awarded $30k as part of P25AC005-00-00, better known as, “Documenting Manhattan Project Scientific Achievements at Hanford.” This project will produce a literature review and research report and create a 4-episode podcast series that will “enhance park staff and the public’s understanding of the science processed, design and construction of the Hanford plutonium production facilities, and advancements in worker protection from radiological, chemical, and other hazards developed during the Manhattan Project at Hanford.” This podcast series adds to the current collaboration with Northwest Public Broadcasting on “Undertold Narratives at MAPR Hanford” project underway this summer. PhD student Blair Rogers is assisting this summer on this newly awarded project.
