Shiloh Green Soto is presenting a paper entitled, “Killing them with Kindness: Community Archives versus the Benevolence of Public
Memory” at the National Council for Public History conference in Montreal, Quebec. The paper is about her creation of a public history guide on rural California’s San Joaquin Valley. She explores the consequences of benevolent history and ways to enact historical justice through community-centered narratives.
