On Monday, 2/3, Robert Franklin was the moderator at a panel discussion for Black History Month at Whitman University titled “Bridging the Past: A Conversation on History, Healing & Hope.” The panelists, Mariah Rocker from Oregon Black Pioneers and Taylor Stewart, founder of the Oregon Remembrance Project, discussed the importance of Oregon Black history, their joint efforts to create more Black space in Oregon, and the contemporary challenges facing Black advancement in the Pacific Northwest.
