Graduate students Alison Moon and Berit Davis have teamed up with new Bunchgrass Historian editor Dr. Katy Whalen to revitalize the Whitman County Historical Society’s semi-annual publication. Their debut issue explores the fascinating history of Pullman’s Main Street, offering historical context to the recent downtown renovation project. The publication, previously edited by former WSU History professor Ed Garretson, now serves as a bridge between WSU’s Department of History and local public history. Through a new graduate internship program, students gain hands-on experience in public history and publishing.
The editorial team welcomes submissions from students and community members working on Whitman County history for upcoming issues.
