2016 Field School Photos and News

These are the Beaverhead Mountains seen from the 2016 Field School work site in Salmon, Idaho.  Salmon is the location of the Sacajawea Interpretive Center.

Leo Ariwite took us up to about 4400 feet just outside of Salmon. Native Americans dig bitterroot before they flower, as shown. They call bitterroot the ‘Indian noodle.’   They’re not as bitter as expected. Most of the students went back to digthem, plus wild carrots.
