Charles\u00a0<span class=\"mark6bghoiis9\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Weller<\/span>, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of History (Career), Washington State University, and Senior Research Fellow, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. His work focuses on religious-cultural identity and relations in Western-Islamic and world history, with a special view to Russian &amp; Islamic Central Asia, the Middle East and United States. He was a visiting fellow at Yale University (2010-11) before becoming a full-time faculty member at WSU. He was also appointed a (non-residential) visiting researcher at Georgetown University\u2019s Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding (2014-19), and Affiliate (Research) Faculty of History at George Mason University (2021-22).<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Among works in English and Kazakh,\u00a0<span class=\"mark6bghoiis9\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Weller<\/span>\u00a0has authored several monographs, including\u00a0<i>Moses, Muhammad and Nature\u2019s God in Early American Religious-Legal History, 1640-1830: A Global Crosscultural Perspective<\/i>\u00a0(2024) and\u00a0<i>\u2018Pre-Islamic Survivals\u2019 in Muslim Central Asia: Tsarist, Soviet and Post-Soviet Ethnography in World Historical Perspective<\/i>\u00a0(2023). He has also edited\u00a0<i>21st-Century Narratives of World History: Global and Multidisciplinary Perspectives<\/i>\u00a0(2017) and co-edited with Anver Emon,\u00a0<i>Reason, Revelation and Law in Islamic and Western Theory and History<\/i>\u00a0(2021)\u00a0(all with Palgrave Macmillan).
